The Great Caretaker

-October 10, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Friday,

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

(1 Peter 5:7).

The Apostle Peter loved Jesus very much. He learned firsthand of His love and care. Our Savior forgave him for denying Him three times. God wasn’t finished with Peter yet and used him in a major way in leading the early church; preaching the gospel and shepherding the flock, just as Jesus told him to do.

God is faithful in taking care of us all throughout our lives. The Lord Jesus is always with us and intercedes for us and helps us. I like to think of Him as the Great Caretaker.

Peter tells us, “Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you” You can insert your name before this verse. He is a very personal Savior. There are millions of Christians living today; still He loves me, knows my name, and the numbers of hairs on my head. He knows our needs and what we are going through, and what we will go through.

We have so many cares, the list is endless. He wants us to cast them on Him and leave them there. Prayer is the vehicle by which we bring them to Him. He gives us sufficient grace through them all.

One of my favorite hymns is, God Will Take Care of You.” It was written Civillia Martin. She had suddenly become ill and her husband Stillman Martin was to go and preach the Word. He was reluctant to leave her. It was their young son who asked, “Father, don’t you think that if God wants you to preach today, He will take care of Mother while you are away?”

He did go and preach and several people professed faith in Christ. When he returned that evening, he found his wife greatly improved and in fact, she had written the words of this hymn. He sat down at the piano and composed the music. The chorus says, “God will take care of you, through every day, o’er all the way; He will take care of you, God will take care of you.”

Whatever our care, let us bring it to the One who cares for us. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

Whatever your care, Jesus is there.
