New Mercies For The New Year

-January 1, 2026-

Good morning beloved, happy Thursday, Happy New Year,

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

(Lamentations 3:23-24).

Today we begin a new year 2026. We start fresh, it is brand new. We put the past year behind us and move forward into the uncertain and unknown. We step out in faith trusting in the Lord one day a time.

We all love the word new. It may be a new day, a new month, or a new year; it may be a new baby, a new home, a new job, a new car; in fact, just about anything new.

As we start on the journey, let us not fear or worry about what may come, and not take anything for granted. This year may bring us joys, sorrows, trials, and tribulations. Everything that God sends, we accept and thank Him for it.

Have a blessed new day and new year. Stay safe and healthy.

New challenges and blessings lie ahead, as we follow Christ our living Head.

Teach Us To Number Our Days

-December 31, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Wednesday, happy New Year’s Eve,

“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

(Psalm 90:12).

Moses wrote Psalm 90 and it is such a blessing. Today is day number 365, the last day of the year. I hope you had a good year; to me, every year is a good year because of the Lord’s goodness everyday. He has given us so much to be thankful for this past year.

Every year has its share of trials and triumphs, ups and downs, joys and sorrows. The Lord has seen us through them all and we are on the doorstep of a new year. Let us finish the year strong to the end.

Numbering our days is not just counting them, it is living each day to the glory of God. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, do all to the glory of God.” This should be our aspiration day in and day out.

I am always encouraged to read Psalm 118:24, “This the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Each day is special, a one of a kind. When we number our days, it is so that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Hopefully another year older, another year wiser.

Have a safe, healthy, and happy New Year. May God richly and abundantly bless your life and ministry.

God is not finished with us yet; may we thank the Lord for His faithfulness and not forget.

Not By My Own Power

-December 30, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Tuesday,

“So he answered me: ‘This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

(Zechariah 4:6).

There is no power that even comes close to God’s power. It is the same power that parted the Red Sea and defeated Pharaoh and his powerful army; the same power that raised Jesus from the dead; the same power that filled the apostles on the day of Pentecost. Time and time again in the Scriptures, God wielded His power on behalf of His people.

Human nature says, “I can handle this..” I can do this.” Is this not a small matter?” Big or small, we need His power for it all. We must surrender to the Lord and let Him work on our behalf. Whether at work or school, whether at church or at home; no matter where we go and in whatever circumstances we find ourselves.

God have Zerubbabel the immense task of rebuilding the temple, one even greater that Solomon’s temple. What a mission, what a commission! God told him how it could and should be done: “by My Spirit.”

Has God shown you what needs to be done? Hudson Taylor, the great missionary to China said, “God’s will, done in God’s way, will never lack supply.” What a great assurance!

The next time you are in a tight spot, not knowing what to do, trust God and pray; rely fully on Him. Let us remember His word, “Not by night nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.”

Have a blessed day in whatever God has for you. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Stay and healthy.

I can’t but He can, and it’s all part of the divine plan.

Jesus Must Increase, I Must Decrease

-December 29, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Monday,

“He must increase, but I must decrease.”

(John 3:30).

John the Baptist was first to burst onto the scene and caused quite a stir throughout all Judea. He was a prophet, mighty in spirit. His ministry was that of the forerunner of Christ.

The Pharisees sent out their representatives to question John as to who he was. John 3:22-23 says, “Then they said to him, who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? ‘What do you say about yourself?’ He said: ‘I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness: make straight the way of the Lord.’ As the prophet Isaiah said.”

When asked about John the Baptist, Jesus replied that there was no greater prophet than he. Herod imprisoned him, and due to his oath to the daughter of his mistress, had John executed.

John had the right perspective that everyone should follow Jesus. His mission was proclaim repentance and the preparation of the heart for the Christ. Today’s verse encapsulates his humility. He knew his role, it was not about him, it was all about Him.

He must increase – He knew who Jesus was and what He would to bring life and salvation. He pointed people to Christ, exalting Him above any one or any thing.

For us today, it is our mission to point people to Jesus, and give Him all the glory. The hymn writer expressed it well, “We give Him all the glory, we give Him all the glory. We give Him all the glory, Christ the Lord.”

I must decrease – When our view of Christ is higher, our view of ourselves is lower. To decrease is humble ourselves and know that everything we have is from above. Without Him we can do nothing.

It is only when we get proud and start thinking how good we are, that we fall. We are but His servants, His vessels. May the Lord help us to be empty of self and filled with the love of Jesus.

Have a blessed day under the mighty hand of God. He then can use us. Stay safe and healthy.

The more we decrease, the more Christ will increase.

God’s Refining Process

-December 28, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day,

“But He knows the way that I take; When He has tried me I shall come forth as gold.”

(Job 23:10).

God never stops working in our lives; His goal is that we grow in our faith and be like Christ. To do this He must put us through the fire of affliction.

His refining process is painful but profitable. There are two aspects to the refining process: burning off the dross and purifying the gold.

Burn off the dross – The dross is that which negatively affects the silver and the gold. The word dross is defined as, “the scum or unwanted material that forms on the surface of molten metal; waste or foreign matter; impurity.

I know that I have dross in my life. It may be a poor motive, a bad attitude, or an unthankful spirit. So often we can take for granted what God has given to us. God gave us and He could take it away. It is hard to face ourselves and let God change us.

Purify the gold – Once the dross is removed, the gold is refined. The gold shines and is more valuable. Thus gold and silver are considered precious metals.

Peter speaks of our faith as precious, tested by fire. 1 Peter 1:7 says, “That the genuineness of your faith, being more precious that gold that perishes, though it be tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Have you been in God’s furnace of refinement. I am in it right now. Have a blessed day letting God have way. Stay safe and healthy.

God only keeps in the fire as long as needed to refine us.
