-August 4, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Monday,

“My flesh and my heart may fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

(Psalm 73:26).

As we grow older, we come to the harsh reality that we have more and more limitations. We can’t see as well, hear as well, walk as fast, move as well or remember things as well as we used to.

These bodies are wearing out. The psalmist tells us, “My flesh and my heart may fail..” Instead of fighting it, we must face it and embrace it. We all have weaknesses, challenges, and obstacles we go through on a daily basis.

The psalmist found the answer, the elixir of life, “But God is the strength (or rock) of my heart and my portion forever.” God hears and answers our prayers and promises to help us in every way, every day.

Paul writing to the Corinthians wrote, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16). Man’s priorities are body, soul, and spirit—God’s priorities are in reverse order: spirit, soul, and body.

May we focus our attention on things above not the things of the earth. God promises to take care of us, even as we age. Let us do all we can for a long as we can, the best we can. We aren’t helpless but we need a little help. One of the hardest things we can ask for is help.

Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day,

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation! Selah.”

(Psalm 68:19).

The Lord has richly and abundantly blessed us, He is blessing us, and He will bless us the future. God bestows His blessings on us daily, as He does His sufficient grace. He daily loads us with benefits.

The word load is defined as, “to make (someone or something) to carry or hold a large or excessive amount of heavy things.” The load of benefits that the load gives is not meant to burden us, but bless us.

When I think of a load I think of a covered wagon or wagons filled to capacity crossing the country from east to west. In Scripture, Joseph sent wagons full of provisions to sustain his father and his family as they traveled from Canaan to Egypt.

Can we not say, “God has blessed us over abundantly, more than we could ask of think.” We are so blessed with loads of benefits and blessings, way more than we deserve. In fact, we deserve nothing, yet He gives us everything.

Have a blessed Lord’s Day. Stay safe and healthy.

He carries our burdens and loads us with His benefits and blessings. As Psalm 103:2 says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, and forget not all His benefits.”

Good morning beloved, happy Saturday,

“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul.”

(Psalm 66:16).

Psalm 66 is one of the anonymous psalms, and is such a blessing to every child of God. God uses each of us who are blessed, to bless others. We all need to know we are not alone in this Christian life in what we are going through.

Our words of praise in what God has done for us stirs up others to do the same. This is why we need to meet together in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and praise His name together.

Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much more as you see the Day approaching.”

I love the expression, “I will declare what He has done for my soul.” It all begins with our salvation. None of deserve to be saved, but we are saved by grace through faith. The salvation of a soul is the greatest of all miracles. But God continues to do great things in our lives. Each day is a new page in a new chapter in the book of our lives.

Paul wrote in Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things.” God is a bountiful giver.

Let us all declare to one another what He has done for our souls. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

The more blessings we receive from Him, the more we have to declare praise and thanks to Him.

Good morning beloved, happy Friday,

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”

(Romans 1:16).

The gospel means the glad tidings or good news. In a world inundated with bad news, the message of the good news is the best news. Paul unashamedly preached the gospel to both the Jews and the Gentiles. In some cases, he risked his life to further the gospel.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4, is what we call “The Gospel in a Nutshell.” Paul wrote, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according the the Scripture, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”

The message of the gospel is simple and clear enough that even an even young child can understand it. God made the message so powerful that it changes lives. The word for power in the Greek is dunamis, from which we derive our English word dynamite.

The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to transform our lives. The gospel never grows old, is always fresh and flourishing. Let us meditate on it, have it at the ready to share it, and pray that God would prepare hearts to receive it.

Let us live out the gospel, speak forth the gospel, and stand firm in the gospel.

Good morning beloved, happy Thursday,

“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

(Psalm 61:2).

David experienced all the emotions that a person goes through; He found the Lord to be His support, strength, and stronghold. He called on the Lord day and night. He falsely accused, mistreated, and pursued by Saul and later by his own son Absalom.

All that being said, human speaking, he was overwhelmed. The overwhelm is defined as,”bury or drown beneath a huge mass; to cover over completely; to overpower in thought or feeling.” It reminds us being buried in an avalanche or knocked over by heavy waves.

Fortunately, He always turned to the Lord. There is no one better to turn to. The Lord Jesus is the Rock of our salvation. We can and should cling to Him, He will never fail us or forsake us.

There is a wonderful hymn written jointly by Vernon J. Charlesworth and Ira D. Sankey, entitled, “A Shelter in the Time of Storm.” The first verse says, “The Lord’s our rock, in Him we hide, a shelter in the time of storm; Secure whatever ill betide, a shelter in the time of storm.” We can face many storms of many types, to various degrees.

Have a blessed day looking to the Rock that is higher. Stay safe and healthy.

When rest on the Rock, your life will never crack.
