Teach Me Your Way, O Lord

-August 10, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day,

“Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.”

(Psalm 86:11).

From the moment we get saved we begin learning from the Lord. He has so much to teach us and He is so patient with us.

The disciples said to Jesus, “teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples” (Luke 11:1). He proceeded to teach them the Lord’s Prayer. The Holy Spirit is our teacher as we pray and read the Word.

We never stop learning the ways of the Lord. The Word of God is so rich, powerful, challenging, and encouraging. Speaking of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you” (John 16:14).

Have a blessed day sitting at the feet of Jesus. Stay safe and healthy.

Teachers teach and learners learn. Let us learn, practice, and obey.

Our Sufficiency Is In God

-August 9, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Saturday,

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not us.”

(2 Corinthians 4:7).

The Christian life is not about is, but is all about Jesus. In ourselves we are weak, inadequate, and insufficient; but Christ is strong, adequate, and sufficient.

The treasure we have in earthen vessels is Christ in us, the hope of glory. He wants us to rely on Him, not on ourselves. An earthen vessel can be translated a jar of clay. Clay vessels are fragile and easily broken.

God’s power flows through our weakness. This way all the glory goes to Him. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says, “And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

There is a wonderful hymn written by Andre Crouch, entitled, “Through It All.” The chorus says, “Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God; Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.”

Have a blessed day relying on God’s sufficiency. Stay safe and healthy.

I am weak but He is strong; I am nothing but He is everything.

Nothing Is Hidden From The Lord

-August 8, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Friday,

“For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.”

(Luke 12:2).

God is an all-seeing, all-hearing, and all-knowing God. He never slumbers or sleeps. So many people think that they can hide their sins from God. It never works. After Adam and Eve sinned, they sewed fig leaves to cover their nakedness.

God called out to Adam, “Where are you.” Everything was known to God, He just needed to deal with their sin by an animal sacrifice and clothe them in animal skins.

Our thoughts are known, our motives are known, our desires are known, and our actions are known. Even if we can manage to hide our sins from one another, God sees, hears, knows.

Hebrews 4:13 says, “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.” We will never be judged for our sins because Jesus died for us and rose again. However, God will review us at the Judgment Seat of Christ. It is both challenging and convicting.

Have a blessed day living a transparent life before God and others. Stay safe and healthy.

Everything will day be revealed; Hidden, secret things will be exposed.

The Spirit Of Adoption

-August 7, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Thursday,

“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’”

(Romans 8:15).

One of our greatest blessings is to be a child of God. We were once children of darkness, children of wrath, under the bondage to sin, Satan, and the our own flesh. Now by grace through faith, we are children of God.

God through the Holy Spirit has adopted us into His family and has given us all the rights and privileges of sonship. The word adoption means, “the action or fact of legally taking another’s child and bringing it up as one’s own, or the fact of being adopted.”

Just think God adopted you and you now belong to Him, not as a slave but as a son. Paul also speaks of our adoption in Galatians 4::4-7. As we know, the word “Abba” means daddy. It is a term of great endearment and close relationship.

We are so blessed to be part of the family of God. There is a beautiful hymn written by Bill and Gloria Gaither, entitled, “The Family of God.” The second verse says, “From the door of the orphanage to the house of the King—No longer an outcast, a new song I sing; From rags unto riches, from the weak to the strong; I’m not worthy to be here, but praise God, I belong.”

Let us thank God that He is our Heavenly Father, our Abba, Father. We are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

Let us lift up our voice and sing, we are children of the great King.

Draw Near To God And Trust Him

-August 6, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Wednesday,

“But is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works.”

(Psalm 73:28).

For every believer should have this glorious aspiration to draw near to God. Spiritually, the Lord Jesus brought us near through His blood. This is quite a contrast with our former life of being very far from God.

We draw near to have an audience with our King. We can access the throne of grace at any time day or night. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly to the the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and grace to help in time of God.”

Drawing near to the Lord Jesus is an invitation, a command, a promise, and a blessing for us. In a world that demands our time and attention, we need to draw near to the Lord and worship Him. James wrote in James 4:7, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…” He longs for us to near to Him.

The hymn writer Catesby Paget wrote a beautiful hymn entitled, “A Mind at Perfect Peace.” The third verse says, “So near, so very near to God, I cannot nearer be; for in the person of His Son, I am as near as He.”

Have a blessed day drawing near to our Heavenly Father through our blessed Savior. Stay safe and healthy.

When we worry or fear, we find great peace in drawing near.
