We Are Kept In Perfect Peace

-August 25, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Monday,

“You will him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed in You, because he trusts in You.”

(Isaiah 26:3).

Today’s verse is a promise to every believer who stays his mind on the Lord. It is easy to have peace when circumstances are favorable and seas are calm; lt is quite another to have peace in the midst of storms and shipwrecks.

Our peace is not based on happenings, but what Christ has done for us and will do for us. Peace is a gift, not based on us but on the Lord. He promises to keep us in perfect peace. God’s peace is perfect because God is perfect.

The word keep indicates that the Lord will maintain and sustain us at all times. He will not allow our feet to slip. Psalm 121:1-2, “I will lift my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

His prefect peace will see us through the most difficult things. Saturday night I had such pain in my ankle and Achilles tendon area I couldn’t sleep, stand, or walk. I had to call 9-1-1. I spent the night in the ER. After running tests the doctor determined that I have a skin infection called cellulitis and gave me antibiotics. I missed church the next day but the Lord kept me in His perfect peace.

We have the responsibility of staying our minds on the Lord. In our modern terminology we might use the word focus. When we focus on our pain, sorrow, or trouble we can get so burdened. When we turn to the Lord, He lifts our burden.

Let us then keep our eyes on the Lord and trust in Him no matter how adverse our circumstances. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

“Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round? On Jesus’ bosom naught but calm is found” (Edward H. Bickersteth).

The Lamp Of His Word Gives Light To Us

-August 24, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day,

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

(Psalm 119:105).

In a word of lights all around us, we can see at night. In Bible days, they had no electricity and had to rely on lamps that they carried in order to see. The shine of the lamps covered just the immediate steps ahead.

The is the best illustration of how we should be guided by the Holy Spirit through the light of God’s Word. The psalmist recognized that God’s Word was a lamp and a light. Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”

As we believers, are to walk in the light as He is in the light, and let our lights shine in this world. The Lord is a God of light. He floods us our souls with light so that we can reflect His light to others.

The light of God’s Word exposes our sins and brings us to repentance. The Word convicts us, reproves us, rebukes us, and instructs us. The hymn writer wrote, “Open my eyes that I may see, glimpses of truth Thou hast for me; Place in my hands the wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free.”

Have a blessed day living in the light of the Word. Stay safe and healthy.

God’s Word illuminates us so we can see and understand.

It Is Good To Be Afflicted?

-August 23, 2025-

Good morning, brothers and sisters, happy Saturday,

“It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes.”

(Psalm 119:71).

The answer to our question is yes and amen. God views affliction differently than we do. We dread it, fear it, and long for it to be over as quickly as possible. God uses it for our growth and for His glory. It will only last as long as needed in our lives.

It is good when we are afflicted because we learn to be dependent on the Lord alone. The Psalmist also wrote, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word” (Psalm 119:67). Affliction gets us on the right track and keeps us in the right track in our spiritual lives.

The word affliction is defined as, “something that causes pain or suffering; the cause of persistent pain or distress.” Paul and the other NT writers had much to say about trials and their value in our lives.

James wrote in James 1:2-4, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

So when affliction knocks on your door open for it; when affliction rings on the phone answer it. God has a purpose for it. He will use it for our good.

Have a blessing through affliction today and trust the Lord fully. Stay safe and healthy.

It is good for us to be afflicted, for God has a purpose for our good.

Keep Your Eyes Straight Ahead

-August 22, 2022-

Good morning beloved, happy Friday,

“Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids right before you.”

(Proverbs 4:25).

Solomon was the wisest man ever, wrote 3,000 proverbs and 1,005 songs. He authored three books: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. Wisdom is the main theme of Proverbs. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

The path of wisdom is right in front of us. When you look straight ahead and follow the Lord we will be right where He wants us to be. The past is behind us and the future is in front of us. Ofttimes we get distracted by the things around us. We must keep our eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12:2 tells us, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of faith…”

By keeping our eyes straight ahead, we will be focused on God and His perfect will. Jesus spoke of a narrow road. The way of righteousness is rarely the easy path, but there joy in the journey with Jesus.

Solomon goes on to say, “Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil” (Proverbs 4:27). The right may seem right to us, the left may look good, but straight ahead is the best direction for us.

May the Lord keep is on the highway of holiness and the path of righteousness. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

Keep looking and going forward trusting in our heavenly Guide, Jesus Christ.

Let All The People Praise The Lord

-August 21, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Thursday,

“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him all you peoples.”

(Psalm 117:1)

Psalm 117 was written by an unknown writer and is the shortest chapter in the Bible, just two verses, twenty nine words. Brevity is a blessing.

The psalmist urges everyone to praise and laud the Lord, especially the Gentiles. We are so thankful that so many Gentiles have saved. Paul wrote in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”

We definitely have so much to praise the Lord for; He is worthy. Psalm 150:6 says, “Let all that has breath praise the Lord.”

Let us the praise the Lord and give all glory the Lord. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

Let us praise all our days.
