Be Humble Or Be Humbled

-September 14, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day?

“And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself, will be exalted.”

(Matthew 23:12).

. Jesus taught humility, and most importantly, He lived it. The disciples needed the lesson on humility, just we do also. On more than one occasion the disciples argued over which one of them was the greatest. Jesus brought in a little child to illustrate humility.

Whoever exalts himself will be humbled – This was certainly true of King Nebuchadnezzar. He thought of how great he was and how great his kingdom was. He heard a voice from heaven, “The kingdom has departed from you! And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over yo, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses” (Daniel 4:32).’”

Fortunately for Nebuchadnezzar, he repented and acknowledged the greatness of God. Daniel 4:37 says, “Now I Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.” Only God can deal with our pride.

And he who humbles himself will exalted – Just as God humbles the proud and puts them down, He able to exalt those who humble themselves. James wrote, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:10).

The word “humbled” in our text may be rendered “put down,” and word “exalt” may be rendered lifted up. May the Lord help us to humble ourselves before Him and He will exalt us.

May a blessed Lord’s Day. Stay safe and healthy.

Pride goes before a fall; humility lifts us tall.

God Blesses The Young And The Old

-September 13, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Saturday,

“The glory of young men is their strength, and the splendor of old men is their gray head.”

(Proverbs 20:29).

God loves each of us, young and old. There are specific characteristics in both groups. Young people are known for their strength; older folks are known for their wisdom.

Youth is a wonderful time mentally and physically. If you’re young you have strength, but you usually lack experience and wisdom. John wrote in 1 John 2:14, “…I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.”

Old age older people have the blessing of experience and wisdom. In our text, Solomon mentions that, “the splendor of old men is their gray head.”

Not every young person is strong, nor do all older people have wisdom. To us it seems that young people wish they had experience and wisdom to avoid so many pitfalls and mistakes; older people wish they had strength like in their youth. If you have both strength and wisdom, you are doubly blessed.

So whether you are young or old, or somewhere in between, look to Jesus and pray for wisdom and strength. Have a blessed day healthy day.

Whatever age I may be, may I be pleasing, Lord to Thee.

A Merry Heart Does Us Good

-September 12, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Friday,

“A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

(Proverbs 18:22).

Most older adults, and younger ones too, are on one medication or another, some like me, are on quite a few, and I thank the Lord for them. Medicines have great value to the body, but the joy of the Lord does us good in spirit, soul, and body.

The expression, “good like medicine” may be rendered, “makes medicine even better.” When we choose to rejoice in the Lord with thanksgiving, we just feel better. Studies have shown that patients with happiness heal more quickly.

The word merry is defined as, “cheerful and lively.” We tend to use it mostly at Christmas, “Merry Christmas.” Each one of us needs a merry heart in all our circumstances. It sounds easy, but it is’n’t when we are suffering. But that is when we need joy the most.

Paul wrote in Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” One of my favorite quotes I heard years ago was, is,”pain is inevitable, misery is optional.”

The contrast in our verse is, “a broken spirit dries up the bones.” We should never give up or lose hope. We have the Lord in our lives! He will see us through!

Is your heart merry today? Are you rejoicing in the Lord? Is the joy of the Lord your strength? A merry heart is good like medicine. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

Julie Andrews sang in the “Sound of Music,”A spoon of sugar makes the medicine go down.” We need a spoon full of joy to make life go down better.

Be Alert To Satan’s Schemes

-September 11, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Thursday,

“Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

(2 Corinthians 2:11).

The devil is the ultimate terrorist and scammer. He uses all his devices, wiles, schemes, against us.Though he is a defeated foe, still he fights to the end, but his doom is sure.

The devil is most dangerous as an angel of light with a Bible in his hands. He misquotes and twists the Scriptures. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, “And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”

Ephesians 6:11 tells us, “Put in the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles (or schemings) of the devil.” Satan is a liar and the father of lies. He uses fear, anxiety, and doubt to bring it all about.

Let us not be ignorant of Satan’s devices by being watchful and keeping our eyes and ears open. Have a blessed and victorious day. Stay safe and healthy.

Test the spirits whether are of God or not.

The Highway Of The Upright

-September 10, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Wednesday

“The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; He who keeps his way preserves his soul.”

(Proverbs 16:17).

Solomon gives us God’s advice to walk before the Lord in righteousness and holiness. The upright are those who are believers in Christ.

Job was an upright man. Job 1:8 says, “Then the Lord said, ‘have you considered My servant Job, and there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil.”

When we get saved the Lord makes us holy and righteous in Christ positionally. Then by the Holy Spirit, we must practice His godly standards, shunning evil. The ways of the world are evil, crooked, and perverse in God’s sight. We fight against the world, the flesh, and the devil.

We must take another path, a straight and now narrow path, the Highway of Holiness. The future glory of the new earth will be filled with perfect holiness. Isaiah 35:8 tells us, “A highway shall be there, a road called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, though a fool, shall not go astray.”

We should not wait until the future to walk on the Highway of Holiness, now is the time to be holy in thought, word, and deed. Have blessed and holy day. Stay safe and healthy day.

Let us be holy, humble, happy, and healthy today on God’s highway.
