Good morning beloved, happy Saturday,
“… Please let down your pitcher, that I may drink, and she says, drink, and I will also give your camels a drink—let her be the one You have appointed for my servant Isaac. By this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”
(Genesis 24:14).
Though this story, the servant is unnamed, though it is most likely Eliezer of Damascus according to Genesis 15. This man was Abraham’s oldest and most trusted servant. His obedience and faith were unquestioned.
Abraham sent him on a mission to get a wife for Isaac from among his relatives, Once he and those with him arrived at their destination, he offered specific prayer regarding who the young lady would be. He believed God and asked very specifically and God answered very specifically. So much for the general prayer for God to bless us.
The Lord led him to Rebekah, the daughter of Abraham’s brother Nahor. He brought her back to Isaac. It ended with their marriage and was a happy ending.
God doesn’t always answer our prayers as we pray them. Everything we pray should be subject to the will of God.
May the Lord help us to ask, seek, and knock at the throne of grace, Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.
God hears and answers prayer.
