Teach Us To Number Our Days

Good morning beloved, happy Wednesday, happy New Year’s Eve,

“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

(Psalm 90:12).

Moses wrote Psalm 90 and it is such a blessing. Today is day number 365, the last day of the year. I hope you had a good year; to me, every year is a good year because of the Lord’s goodness everyday. He has given us so much to be thankful for this past year.

Every year has its share of trials and triumphs, ups and downs, joys and sorrows. The Lord has seen us through them all and we are on the doorstep of a new year. Let us finish the year strong to the end.

Numbering our days is not just counting them, it is living each day to the glory of God. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, do all to the glory of God.” This should be our aspiration day in and day out.

I am always encouraged to read Psalm 118:24, “This the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Each day is special, a one of a kind. When we number our days, it is so that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Hopefully another year older, another year wiser.

God is not finished with us yet; may we thank the Lord for His faithfulness and not forget.
