-Good morning beloved, happy Monday, Merry Christmas,
“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
(Luke 2;11).
There are two beautiful titles of Jesus in this verse: Savior and Christ the Lord. Both are indicative that He is the Messiah, the Son of living God.
The angel in speaking to Joseph said, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from our sins” (Matthew 1:21). The the hymn, Silent Night,” says, “Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar; heavenly hosts sing Alleluia! Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born!”
• Savior – The name Jesus means Savior. Jesus is both the Savior of the world and our personal Savior. From what does Jesus save us? We are saved from our sins; saved from world, the flesh, and the devil; and saved from condemnation and hell.
• Christ the Lord -Jesus is both our Savior, and He is Lord of all. And our He wants to be our Lord daily and over things. You can say it either way: Savior and Lord or Lord and Savior. Christ means the anointed one. I prefer the latter.
Jesus is our boss, our King, our Master. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and heathy.
Jesus was born to the world; He was born our hearts.
