Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day, Merry Christmas,
“When they saw the star they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him…”
(Matthew 2:11).
We know very little about the wisemen or magi. We are in unsure of how many the there were in their group. We do know they travelled a great distance from the east. They followed a special that lead them to Jerusalem and spoke to Herod who directed them to Bethlehem and they followed the special star and followed it right to where the Child and His mother were,
They knew the King of the Jews had been born time before. They didn’t find them in stable but a house. They came after Bethlehem the birth of Christ. They were so amazed with Child and worshipped Him. They didn’t worship Mary.
The reason why it is believed that there were three wisemen is because they presented three gifts, gold, frankincense, myrrh. Gold represents His deity, frankincense represents His perfect humanity, myrrh represents His sacrificial death on the cross. None of this was coincidental.
What gifts can we offer to Jesus today? Our gifts are our hearts given fully and completely to Him. He delights in our obedience, surrender, and yieldedness. He wants all us to be all for Him.
Have a blessed Day in worshipping our Savior. Stay safe and healthy.
Keep Christ in Christmas, and widely seeking Him,
Dean
