“And this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years who did depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.”
(Luke 2:37-38).
Good morning, beloved, happy Thursday, Merry Christmas,
This woman was Anna the prophetess. She was of great age and was a widow. Her husband died seven years into the marriage. That means she been a widow for seventy-seven years!
We don’t know if she had family or not. She had moved from the land and tribe of Asher. Instead of growing older and bitter, she became older and better. She lived in the temple and did not depart from it, continuing night and day in fastings and prayers. She puts as my dedication to shame.
She was definitely in the right place at the right place doing the right things. She was privileged to see Jesus, just as Simeon did. The temple was a big place, but God directed her to come in that instant and she immediately gave thanks to the Lord and told others who were waiting for the consolation of Israel.
God leads us to be in the right place at the right place to share the gospel. He gives us opportunities to share our faith and give testimony of what He has done for us.
We are just a week before Christmas, we need to tell people the true meaning of Christmas God God came down to dwell among us and save us from our sins. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.
The greatest story ever told, never grows old
