His Name Will Be Called Prince of Peace

“…And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Good morning beloved, happy Monday, Merry Christmas,

(Isaiah 9:6).

Jesus Christ our Lord is both a Prince and a King. Normally we think of a prince as the son of a king. He is the Son of God. He is also the King of Glory.

The word prince is defined as, “a male member of a royal family especially a son of a sovereign.” We a part of His royal family. Peter said in his sermon, “Him God exalted to to His right hand to be Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel and the forgiveness of sins.”

To those in his audience who were Jews would know that Messiah would be called the Prince of Peace. Only the resurrected Christ can grant us repentance and forgiveness of sins by dying on the cross for our sins, in our place. He rose again and is exalted to the right hand of God. This concludes our series on Isaiah 9:6.

Let us praise the Lord Jesus that He became our King, Prince and Savior. Have a blessed Christmas season and Christmas day. Stay safe and healthy.
