His Name Will Be Called Everlasting Father

Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day

“,..And His name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God. Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”

(Isaiah 9:6)

Today we will consider the fourth name of Jesus the Messiah; He will be called the Everlasting Father. This title is composed of two key words; everlasting and Father.

The word everlasting is defined as, “lasting or enduring through all time: eternal.” 1 Chronicles 16:17 says, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting.” Jesus is God, He has no beginning nor ending; He is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last.

Because Jesus is everlasting, He can impart everlasting life to us. Jesus said in John 10:27-28, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”

Bill MacDonald commented, “The Messiah will be a Father to His people eternally. As Davidic King, He will compassionately cate for and disciple them” This Baby Boy, born in a manger, grew up to be a Man and died on the cross for our sins. Then He rose the dead and ascended to glory and is seated at the right hand of God.

Let us rejoice this Christmas season that we have a personal relationship with Jesus, our Everlasting Father. Have a blessed Lord’s Day. Stay safe and healthy.

We have everlasting life because He gave it to us by grace through faith.
