Good morning beloved, happy Friday, Merry Christmas,
“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.”
(Isaiah 9:2).
This verse is a prophesy of when our Savior would come from heaven to a world of sin and darkness. At the time Jesus was born there was complete darkness. He came as the Light of the world.
Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
Twice in today’s verse Isaiah mentioned the word light. Jesus the Light of the world is both a great light and a light that shined on the people in darkness and in the land of the shadow of death.
John who did not describe the birth of Christ but wrote of Him, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend (or overcome) it” (John 1:4-5).
Is Jesus your light? Are you walking in the light? Are you letting your light shine? Jesus told His followers, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). We are like the moon that can only shine because the sun shines on it. So, too, Jesus shines on us so we can shine on others and point them to Him.
Have a blessed day shining for Jesus; Jesus is the reason for the season. Stay safe and healthy.
The Light of the World shines forever and ever.
