Good morning, beloved, happy Monday, Merry Christmas,
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, and shall go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’
(Isaiah 6:8).
God’s plan of salvation was conceived in the mind of God in eternity past, way before man was created and fell into sin. Our loving God formulated and carried out the plan to absolute perfection.
The hymn writer William R. Newell wrote in his hymn, “At Calvary” the wonderful words, “O the love that drew salvation’s plan! O the grace that brought it down to man! O the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary.” The plan began its fulfillment with the birth of Christ.
God fulfills every promise completely and perfectly. Today’s verse shows our Savior Jesus Christ’s desire to come to save us from our sins. Through Scripture, we are privy to a conversation between God the Son and God the Father. Jesus volunteered for the mission, saying, “Here am I, send me.”
Only Jesus the Son of God could carry out this mission. There are so many missions, especially in wartime, they going in would mean certain death. Why do those brave men take on such a task? They do it because they love their country. God loved us so much that He sent His own and well beloved Son to save us.
1 John 4:10, “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Oh what a love!
Have a blessed day as we begin the Christmas season. Stay safe and healthy.
The Heavenly Volunteer calls on us to volunteer for His service with willingness, compassion, and love.
