Good morning beloved, happy Friday,
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
(Isaiah 61:10).
We came to Christ in the filthy rags of sin, unrighteousness, and shame. We had no hope, no way to clothe ourselves in the presence of a holy God. We were dead in our trespasses and sins, separated from God.
But now we have been saved by grace through faith, justified, and clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Our verse says, “He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness…”
It was wonderful how God clothed Adam and Eve in animal skins to cover their nakedness. It was a prophesy pointing far into the future when through the sacrifice of Christ and His shed blood, we are now clothed in the garments of salvation and covered in the white robes of righteousness.
It is a wonderful picture of a bridegroom and his bride who are dressed with ornaments and jewels respectively. Christ is our Bridegroom and we are His bride. In the hymn, “The Solid Rock,” Edward Mote penned in the last stanza, “When He shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in Him be found; Dressed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne.”
Dear saint, rejoice that you have been clothed in His righteousness. He turned you from a sinner to a saint. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.
God sees us through Christ and dressed in His righteousness alone.
