Good morning beloved, happy Monday,
“For He himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.”
(Ephesians 2:14).
At the end of WWII, the city of Berlin in Germany was divided into West Berlin, which was under western control, and East Berlin, which was under Soviet control. As a consequence, the East Germans built an almost impenetrable wall.
The East Germans did their upmost to stop anyone from leaving East Germany to cross over to West Germany and freedom. November 9, 1989, the wall was down and signified the end of the Iron Curtain.
It brought on great celebrations not only in Germany but throughout the world. Eventually on October 3, 1990 Germany was unified into one Germany.
As great as that was, it can’t compare to the breaking down of the middle wall of separation between a holy God and a sinful people, through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.
When Jesus died on the cross the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. That veil or curtain was so tall and strong no human being could tear it, especially from top to bottom. Only God could do it and remove the separation between God and man and a result the separation between Jew and Gentile.
Because that wall was broken down we as believers have peace with God and access to the presence of God. Now that is a cause for the greatest celebration ever! In fact, whenever a person repents and receives Christ, the angels in heaven rejoice. Actually they throw a party in heaven.
Let us thank God there is no more separation or condemnation for us who are in Christ Jesus. Have a blessed day of freedom in Christ. Stay safe and healthy.
