Don’t Drift—Be Anchored To Christ

November 6, 2025-

Good morning beloved brethren, happy Thursday,

“Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.”

(Hebrews 2:1).

It is God’s will that we don’t drift away from Him. To do that we must give the more earnest heed or as it can be translated, “all the more careful attention.”

Drifting is a slow process and before you know it, you’ll be out to sea. The word drift is defined as, “a continuous slow movement from one place to another; to be carried slowly by a current of air or water.”

The closer we are to Christ the more we will be firmly anchored in Him. Hebrews 6:19 states affirmatively, “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil.”

Whether we are going through storms or are in a place of complacency, we need to be anchored. Our anchor is an anchor of the soul.

The hymn writer Priscilla Owen’s wrote, “Will your anchor hold in the storms of life, when the clouds unfold their wings of strife? When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain, will your anchor drift or firm remain?”

Have a blessed day anchored the Lord. Stay safe and healthy.

Take heed lest you drift as you sail through life, solidly anchored to Jesus Christ.
