Give Preference To One Another

-November 3, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Monday,

“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.”

(Romans 12:10).

The Book of Romans, written by Paul, presents the truth of gospel by faith in Jesus Christ. There are sixteen chapters and they may be divided into three sections: doctrinal (chapters 1-8); dispensational (chapters 9-11); and practical (chapters 12-16).

In my view, Romans chapter 12 is one of the most practical, encouraging, and challenging chapters in all the NT. The heading in my Bible over verses 12:9-21 is, “Behave Like a Christian.”

Our focus today is on verse three. It presents us with a golden key for our relationships with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and most of all with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

If we follow this verse in our lives daily it will lubricate us and keeping running just as oil does for an automobile. We must “be kindly affectionate to one another in brotherly love. “

Paul tells us the best way is to give preference to one another. The word preference is defined as,”the act, fact, or principle of giving advantages to some over others.” As believers, we are to love each other and put them ahead of ourselves.

Paul said in Philippians 2:3-4, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

Let others go first; let others choose what they would like; listen to other people’s ideas; live to serve others in humility and love. It sounds simple enough, but it is very challenging to carry out.

Have a blessed day giving preference to others in Christ’s love. Stay safe and healthy.

Abraham gave lot first choice of the land and God him the best land. We never lose when we let others choose.
