Good morning beloved, happy Friday,
“Be anxious for nothing…”
(Philippians 4:6).
Why do we stress out over things in our lives that we can’t control? The definition of “don’t sweat the small stuff is, “to worry about things that are not important.”
Worry over things big or small only leads to anxiety, frustration, and all sorts of health problems. My teacher Bill MacDonald called it, “majoring on the minors.” More arguments are hotly debated over such unimportant things. Take for example, church members argue over paint color, the color or texture of the carpet, or how someone is dressed. Churches have been split over such small things.
Another term for not sweating the small stuff is trivial. In matters of doctrine we must stand firm in our beliefs and we should be united, but in minor matters, we should follow the simple rule: “In essentials, unity, in non-essentials, liberty, but in all things charity (love).”
So the next time you get agitated over something small and or unimportant, just give it to the Lord and He will handle it. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.
Don’t trip or slip over the small stuff. In the words of Solomon, “the little foxes spoil the vines.”
