In Whom Do You Trust?

-October 28, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Tuesday,

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.”

(Jeremiah 17:7).

Do you want to be blessed by God? The best way is to trust in Him. If you look on our U.S. currency and coinage, you find the words, “IN GOD WE TRUST.” Our country began by trusting in God. Sadly, for so many it is just a national slogan and has little relevance to their daily lives.

As believers we know how important it is to trust in the Lord. Twice in today’s text, we find the words “in the Lord.” Trust and hope are intrinsically linked. When we trust in the Lord, we have hope for the future; when we hope in the Lord, we trust Him more in the present.

When we trust in the Lord, we rely upon Him in whatever circumstances we find ourselves. God alone is our help. He will never fail us. He comes through for us in His timing and in His ways.

We must trust in the Lord to keep us and provide for us spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally, yes in every way. In the first Star Wars movie, Princess Leah said, “You’re our only hope Obi-wan Kenobi.” Can we not say, Lord Jesus, You are our only hope.”

There is quite a contrast between trusting in man and trusting in God. Jeremiah 17:5 says, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord.” You can’t trust in Lord and in man at the same time. The Israelites said they trusted in Lord but they asked other nations like Egypt for help when they were attacked.

Let us make the choice today to trust in the Lord alone and put no confidence in flesh. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

Without Jesus we can do nothing without Him; with Jesus we can do all things.
