Put On Christ

-September 27, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Saturday,

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust.”

(Romans 13:14).

When we get up in the morning we have to get dressed to be prepared for the day. We put on our cleanest, nicest clothes; we want to look good.

For the Christian, we have something greater to put on to prepare us to go out into the world. We have Christ. He has saved us and given us new life. To put on Christ is to live freely and fully for Him and with Him.

Paul wrote in Galatians 3:27, “For as many of you who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” Baptism here refers to our spiritual baptism, the putting off of sin; not water baptism. Though baptism by immersion is essential to identity ourselves as believers.

We are also told to put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11); to put on the new nature (Colossians 3:10); and put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering (Colossians 3:12).

We need to wear our faith in righteousness, holiness, and love. Christ is our light, our life, our love. We must live Christ before others walking in His steps. Just as the Israelites whose clothing and sandals never wore out; so too, our garments are eternal. We give all the glory to the Lord.

Are you dressed with Christ today? Only then can we have victory over the lusts of the flesh. Have a blessed day with Christ and for Christ. Stay safe and healthy.

You’re not properly dressed until you put on Christ.
