The Sovereignty Of God

Good morning beloved, happy Wednesday,

“…til you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men.”

(Daniel 4:25).

King Nebuchadnezzar was a very proud man. As the expression goes, “he got too big for his britches.”Throughout Scripture, God humbles the proud and gives grace to the humble. God brought him to humility before the God of heaven through a string of afflictions. Once he learned his lesson, God brought him back to his throne.

Our God is sovereign over the whole universe. The definition of sovereignty is, “supreme power or authority.” He rules over all. His throne is in heaven, high above the earth and all mankind.

God chooses what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. No one and nothing can thwart His plans and purposes. This means God is in full control of everything in our lives.

C.H. Spurgeon once said, “There is no attribute more comforting than that of God’s sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe trials, they believe that sovereignty has ordained their affliction, that sovereignty over rules them, and that sovereignty will sanctify them all.”

Jesus is Lord of our lives; He is in control, not our feelings or our circumstances. Isaiah 66:1 says, “This says the Lord: ‘Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool.’”

We are so blessed to be children of God. Our Heavenly Father watches over us, cares for us, guides us in His will. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

God sits on His throne to rule and overrule in our lives.
