We Are Kept In Perfect Peace

-August 25, 2025-

Good morning beloved, happy Monday,

“You will him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed in You, because he trusts in You.”

(Isaiah 26:3).

Today’s verse is a promise to every believer who stays his mind on the Lord. It is easy to have peace when circumstances are favorable and seas are calm; lt is quite another to have peace in the midst of storms and shipwrecks.

Our peace is not based on happenings, but what Christ has done for us and will do for us. Peace is a gift, not based on us but on the Lord. He promises to keep us in perfect peace. God’s peace is perfect because God is perfect.

The word keep indicates that the Lord will maintain and sustain us at all times. He will not allow our feet to slip. Psalm 121:1-2, “I will lift my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

His prefect peace will see us through the most difficult things. Saturday night I had such pain in my ankle and Achilles tendon area I couldn’t sleep, stand, or walk. I had to call 9-1-1. I spent the night in the ER. After running tests the doctor determined that I have a skin infection called cellulitis and gave me antibiotics. I missed church the next day but the Lord kept me in His perfect peace.

We have the responsibility of staying our minds on the Lord. In our modern terminology we might use the word focus. When we focus on our pain, sorrow, or trouble we can get so burdened. When we turn to the Lord, He lifts our burden.

Let us then keep our eyes on the Lord and trust in Him no matter how adverse our circumstances. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.

“Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round? On Jesus’ bosom naught but calm is found” (Edward H. Bickersteth).
