Good morning beloved, happy Lord’s Day,
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
(Psalm 119:105).
In a word of lights all around us, we can see at night. In Bible days, they had no electricity and had to rely on lamps that they carried in order to see. The shine of the lamps covered just the immediate steps ahead.
The is the best illustration of how we should be guided by the Holy Spirit through the light of God’s Word. The psalmist recognized that God’s Word was a lamp and a light. Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”
As we believers, are to walk in the light as He is in the light, and let our lights shine in this world. The Lord is a God of light. He floods us our souls with light so that we can reflect His light to others.
The light of God’s Word exposes our sins and brings us to repentance. The Word convicts us, reproves us, rebukes us, and instructs us. The hymn writer wrote, “Open my eyes that I may see, glimpses of truth Thou hast for me; Place in my hands the wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free.”
Have a blessed day living in the light of the Word. Stay safe and healthy.
God’s Word illuminates us so we can see and understand.
