Good morning beloved, happy Wednesday,
“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.’”
(John 13:7).
I think we can all relate to Peter, I know I can. Peter could not understand why Jesus as the Master would get down on his knees and wash all the disciples’ feet.
At first Peter protested the thought of it. Then when Jesus told him if He did not wash his feet he would have no part with Him, then he suggested that Jesus wash his head and his head also. Jesus explained that the disciples were already clean, only their feet needed washing.
Jesus told them He was their example to wash each other’s feet. In other words, we should serve one another as Jesus did. It was a lesson they had to learn; I believe they remembered this lesson the rest of their lives.
So many times we do not understand what God is doing in our lives now. Things do not make sense. We ask, “What good could possibly come from (fill in the blanks)?” We may not understand it now but we will in the future, whether on earth or in heaven.
When we do not understand we have trust the sovereignty of God. We cannot see what He sees or know what He knows. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’”
God never makes a mistake, never fails, is never late in what He does. He always looks at the big picture. As Paul wrote, “And we know that all things work together for good to those love who love God, those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Have a blessed trusting God for everything, even when we cannot understand it. Stay safe and healthy.
As someone said, “Don’t doubt in the dark what God has shown in the light.”
