Good morning beloved, happy Tuesday,
“Keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings.”
(Psalm 17:8).
David the writer of Psalm 17 had an intimate relationship with the Lord. God’s love for us is undeniable, unlimited, and unmeasurable. He is with us always and fully takes care of us daily.
The expression, “Apple of Your Eye,” is a beautiful picture of God’s lovingkindness and mercy toward us. Another word for apple in this context is pupil. We can’t get much closer than God’s pupil.
The definition of apple of your eye is, “Something or someone that one cherishes above all else.” Wow! God loves me that much and hides me under the shadow of His wings. Christ is our Bridegroom and we are His bride. He loves above anything or anyone.
We can’t explain why He loves as He does. God is love and He loves us eternally. Jeremiah 31:3 says, “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying, ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.’”
