Good morning beloved, happy Tuesday,
(2 Peter 1:3).
“As His divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”
In Peter’s epistles, he wrote to believers scattered across the areas of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who were called pilgrims of the Dispersion (1 Peter 1:1-2). These people were God’s elect according to knowledge, sanctification, obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Christ.
Peter focused on how precious Christ is to us and all that He has done for us. Here in today’s text, we see the extent of what He has given us. We are a forgetful people and need to be frequently reminded that, “…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness.”
Just try for a moment to drink that in and consume for your life! What are the “all things” that Peter referred to? He means all the blessings and promises of the Word of God. Paul wrote a similar truth in Ephesians 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”
We all have needs, problems, and difficulties; we go through trials, temptations, fears, troubles, and challenges. Let us remember who we are, God’s elect people; and what we have, all things that pertain to life and godliness. He has given us all that we need, both now and for all eternity. Life and godliness covers our lives like a warm blanket on a wintery night.
Have a blessed day claiming your inheritance and using it in your life. Stay safe and healthy.
All things means everything, to all of us, all the time, in all ways.
Dean
