Good morning beloved, happy Saturday,
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
(1 John 5:14-15).
We as believers have the wonderful assurance that God hears and answers our prayers. God loves us and delights to answer our requests in His timing and in His way.
Twice in our text John uses the phrase, “we know.” We know that He hears us, and we know we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. It shows the confidence we have in our Lord. We don’t pray to the air or the ceiling; our prayers reach the throne of grace, the throne room of the universe, the very ears of God Himself.
Jesus said in Luke 11:9-11, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
We must also follow the whole counsel of God regarding prayer. Meaning, we ask in faith without any doubting (James 1:6-8); with no unconfessed sin in our lives (Psalm 66:18); in Jesus’ name (John 14:13); and according to His will as in our text.
Let us thank God for the privilege and blessing of prayer and that God answers our prayers. Have a blessed day. Stay safe and healthy.
When you begin your day —pray; when you end your day — pray; and all through the day— pray.
