The Lord Regards The Lowly

-August 14, 2024-

Good morning beloved, happy Wednesday,

“Though the Lord is on high, yet He regards the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.”

(Psalm 138:6).

God is the Almighty God who reigns in power, authority, majesty, and glory. He is exalted over the angels and all humanity. He is sovereign above all and over all. Yet He regards the lowly.

When the Lord Jesus came into the world, He was born into a poor family; He was born in a manger. As strong and powerful as He was, He was humble. He loved people and cared for them.

The Lord delights in those who are contrite and humble, who think of others above themselves. James said, “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).

The knows us through and through. He is the only One who can see right into our hearts. To be lowly is to have the right estimation of who Jesus is and who were are. We are all sinners, but sinners saved by grace.

Romans 12:16 says, “Be of the same mind to one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.” If we want to be pleasing to God and be used of Him, we must be humble, not proud.

I am a nothing, a nobody, but I am a child of God; that makes me someone special to God. His opinion is the only one that really counts. I am important to Him. Solomon, the wisest king ever, who had it all, said in Proverbs 3:7, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear God and depart from evil.”

David wrote, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart—these, O God, You will not despise.” God exalts the humble, but humbles the proud.

Have blessed, humble day in the Lord. He will lift you up. Stay safe and healthy.

Pride goes before a fall; but humility goes before honor.
