Good morning beloved, happy Saturday,
“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”
(John 20:31).
John was called the disciple whom Jesus loved. He had an intimate relationship with Christ. He reclined on His bosom. John loved Jesus very much and went on to serve the Lord until his death. He not only wrote the Gospel of John, but also 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and Revelation.
John’s gospel differs from the other three in its purpose and emphasis. John portrayed Christ as the Son of God. Everything points to Jesus and salvation through Him.
John says that Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples which are not written in his gospel account. His purpose was that those who read it may believe and have life in His name.
John wrote in 1 John 5:13, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
Many hear the gospel and reject it; some hear it and believe it; and a few others decide not to decide or to put off their decision to another day or time. Have you believed that Jesus is the Son of God? Have you received Him as your Lord and Savior? If you have, not only is John happy but so is heavenly Father.
Have a blessed day believing. Stay safe and healthy.
Without faith is impossible to please God, with faith we can move mountains.
