-Good morning beloved, happy Friday,
“…shall not come into judgment…”
(John 5:24b).
As we have seen before, God gives us the passport to heaven. None of us deserve it. We are all sinners, but sinners saved by grace. He has freely given us eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Eternal life is a free gift.
Not only do we have eternal life, we shall not come into judgment. Christ took our place on the cross, bore our sins, and endured the wrath and judgment of God that was our due. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Because Jesus took our judgment on Himself, there no condemnation for us. Romans 8:1 says, “There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” Jesus the Judge became the one who was judged in our place so that we could be free from the wrath to come. Jesus says to the Father, “They are with Me.” We enter heaven on His merits, His righteousness.
Pastor and author Max Lucado tells a story of a group of middle school students who had a volleyball tournament. One game was at 8:00 am and the other at 11:00 am. One of the parents invited the kids and their parents to a special breakfast at her restaurant. The restaurant was open, and some guests were invited guests and others were paying guests.
The owner stood by the cashier and told the girl who was paid for by saying, “They are with me.” Thus their breakfast was free. Jesus does the same for us. He made the way of salvation possible for us.
Let us rejoice that we will never judged for our sins. Jesus paid the price in full. One of my favorite hymns is, “Jesus Paid It All” by Elvina M. Hall. The third verse and chorus says, “And when before the throne I stand in Him complete, Jesus died my soul to save, my lips shall still repeat. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain—He washed it white as snow.”
Have a blessed and thankful day with whatever comes your way. Stay safe and healthy.
The Passport to heaven is written in blood—The blood of Christ our Savior.
