Who Is On The Lord’s Side?

-February 23, 2024-

Good morning beloved, happy Friday,

“He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.”

(Mark 12:30).

Jesus made it crystal clear: one is either with Him or against Him. Every person must make his or her own decision. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life; the only way to salvation and eternal life.

The Pharisees and Sadducees were clearly against Jesus; the chief priests were against Him, and there were others as well. The common people loved Him; they flocked to hear his teaching and be healed by Him. There were some religious leaders like Nicodemus and few others that believed in Him and followed Him, but they were in the minority.

In the days of the Israelites in the wilderness, there were rebels who sinned against the Lord and were unrestrained. Moses asked the question, “Whoever is on the Lord’s side—come to me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him. And he said to them, ‘Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor” (Exodus 32:26b-27). The Levites stood with Lord and Moses.

We are on the Lord’s side; we stand with Him and for Him. There is no middle ground, no gray area. Jesus tells, “Follow Me.” When Jesus spoke some hard sayings, there were many who went back and followed Him no more. Jesus turned to the twelve and asked, “Do you also want to go away?” Peter spoke up for himself and all of them, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. And we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (John 6:68).

Let us then be on the Lord’s side no matter what the cost. Have a blessed day following Jesus. Stay safe and healthy.

There are only two sides: choose wisely, choose Christ,

Dean
