Good morning, happy Friday,
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
(John 3:17-18).
God in His love for the world sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. He made possible our salvation completely apart from human merit, works, or efforts. We are saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ. It is God’s desire for every person in the world be saved. 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
There is no condemnation to us who are in Christ Jesus. He was condemned in our place so that we will never be condemned again. Romans 8:1 tells us, “There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” We are so blessed. Our sins are forgiven, removed as far as the east from the west, they are blotted out and removed as a dark cloud. All through the blood of Christ. We will never be judged, nor will we experience the wrath to come.
Sadly, there is condemnation for those who are unsaved. They stand condemned already for they have not repented of their sins and have not believed in the name of Jesus. God did all He could, they have chosen not to believe. They have not accepted the remedy, the cure. There are many diseases in the world that have cures, but one must get them in time or they will die. When someone dies like that, it is very sad; yet it didn’t need to happen. Spiritually, we have found the cure for sin and accepted in time.
There is a wonderful praise and worship song entitled, “You Are M King,” that says, “I’m forgiven because You were forsaken, I’m accepted, You were condemned. I’m alive and well Your Spirit is within me because You died and rose again. Amazing love, how can it be? That You my King would die for me. Amazing love, I know it’s true, and it’s my my joy to honor You. Amazing love how can it be? That You my King would die for me. Amazing love I know it’s true; and it’s my joy to honor You, in all I do, I honor You.”
Let us rejoice that there is no condemnation to us and continue to reach out to those who are condemned, who have not yet come to Christ to be saved. Christ is the cure, and we must carry it to others in need. Say it in your heart, say it with your tongue, “I am not condemned because I am pardoned, forgiven, and cleansed.”
Have a blessed day and happy Memorial Day weekend. Stay safe and healthy.
Free from sin guilt and shame, all in Jesus’ name,
Dean
