The Blessed Unity Of God’s People

-July 2, 2022-

Good morning, happy Saturday,

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”

Unity in today’s world is rare among the people of the world, and is not prevalent even in the church. Unity is defined as, “the state of being united or joined as a whole.” In the NT, it is being of one mind, in one accord in Christ. The church is described as the body, the building, and bride of Christ.

To be effective as a church, we must work together in fellowship and love. The devil does his utmost to divide the church. There are so many different denominations. If we can’t get along and be united, the world won’t listen to our message. The psalmist pronounces a blessing on those who dwell together in unity. Someone once said, “To live above with saints we love, oh that will be glory; but oh to live below with saints we know, now that’s another story.”

Paul’s desire and prayer for believers is found in Romans 15:5-6, “Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Our strength comes when we stand together, pray together, and serve together. Unity doesn’t just happen, we must work at it diligently. Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:3, “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Have a blessed day supporting, loving, and encouraging one another in unity. Stay safe and healthy.

In the oneness of Christ,

Dean
