-July 4, 2020-
Good morning, happy Saturday, happy 4th of July,
-Blessed Is Our Nation-
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own as His own inheritance.”
(Psalm 33:12).
We are so blessed and thankful to be citizens of the U.S.A. The nation is 244 years old today! Despite all our problems, America is the best country in the world. From our infancy to the present day, God has richly blessed our country over the years.
The Psalmist wrote, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” We as believers are doubly blessed: to be citizens of heaven and citizens of America. We live in a land of freedoms and opportunities; The abundance around us is everywhere, especially here in California. Ordinary people in America are considered rich compared to so many other countries in the world.
We should never forget our blessings but count them and thank God for them. The Lord has richly and abundantly blessed us. I thank for every American, of every race, color, and nation origin. I am proud of our country, our flag, our government, our churches, our economy, our transportation system, our schools, our businesses large, medium, and small, and all the financial and materials things we have. We are so blessed.
We should never take our country lightly or for granted. This pandemic we are experiencing has been devastating both physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, financially, and materially. We must do all we can to lessen the spread. We seek God’s help through this crisis.
The Psalmist also says that we are, “the people whom God has chosen as His inheritance.” Jesus said in John 15:16, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give to you.”
We as His people are His special treasure; He loves us so much. We should thank Him every day for what He has done for us and has given to us. We don’t deserve anything but He has given us everything! Let us thank Him today for our nation and all that we have. Though our 4th of July celebrations will be very different this year, they will still be a blessing to us. Happy Birthday America! You are still looking good.
Have a blessed 4th of July. Stay safe and healthy.
Dean
